PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Due to their unique characteristics, polyurethane adhesives are widely used within the industry as they can be formulated to give a wide range of physical properties, such as viscosity and adhesion to many different substrates, and application properties, such as pot life (time to apply after mixing a 2-part adhesive). Polyurethane systems used for adhesives can be separated into two main classifications, 1K (1-part) and 2K (2-part) systems, which share some similarities, but each technology has its distinct advantages and disadvantages. Véhicules électriquesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : In order to reach a long drive range of electrically driven vehicles, batteries with high storage capacities are needed. Due to the size and weight limitation of the batteries, the use of batteries with high energy density is necessary. Adhesives and sealants are crucial for the construction of the battery modules and are needed for bonding, sealing and for thermal interface tasks. Note de contenu : - Tailor made adhesive solutions for battery applications
- Structural and crash-durable adhesives for battery enclosure applications
- Adhesives and sealants for battery enclosure applications
- Adhesives for the thermal management of battery

- Fig. 2 : Strength build-up measured by lap shear tests at 60, 80 and 100°C of a two component epoxide based adhesive for battery enclosure application for artificial ageint lap shear tests were performed initial (7d room temperature cure) and after 10 weeks exposure to salt spray. It was showed that lap searr strength is maintained
- Fig. 3 : Lap shear tests performed with a one component SMP sealant show that the cleaning with heptane of bare aluminum is sufficient to achieve a good adhesion. The lap shear strength were measured after 7 days room temperature cure as well as after exposure for 7 days at 70°C, 100 % r.h., immersion for 7 days in saltwater, 4 weeks climate change test, and 12 weeks salt spray test. The failure modes show a cohesive failure mode

Matériaux -- Application-dosageIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Two-component (2K) adhesives are becoming increasingly prevalent in a variety of manufacturing applications—including electronics, medical devices, aerospace, transportation and basic assembly—because their predictable cure times allow these processes to be managed with greater control and efficiency. Many 2K adhesives are packaged in cartridges that range in size from 1-1,500 ml with ratios from 1:1 to 25:1. Regardless of cartridge volume or ratio, the packaging considerations needed to optimize adhesive performance are the same. Note de contenu : - Trapped air risks

PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Polyurethane adhesives as a class can no longer be perceived as new raw materials. From a 217 million ib base, double digit growth can no longer be expected, but significant growth will continue.
Formulators are taking advantage of the tremendous flexibility of urethane chemistry in designing new adhesive products. Specialty niches like waterbornes and reactive hot melt, for example, will continue to emerge and fuel growth.Note de contenu : - CONSUMPTION AND GROWTH
