Résumé : |
The total bio-mass formaed by photosynthesis is estimated to about 2*10'' tons/yera, which is 20 times the total output of coal oil and natural gas. Crpo based processes already exist and in some instances fatty acid's manufacture and fermentation technology completes effectively with petrochemical-derived process. In tropical countries with large areas of rapidly growing bio-mass, alcohol derived from a wide variety of fermentable polysaccharide containing plants could be an important source for the synthesis of basic raw materials for polymers.
World wide demand for wood as industrial raw materials for structural applications is estimated to increase by 3% to 4% annualy to yaer 2000. Half of the wood harvest is used directly as a fuel today. Most chemicals and chemical products made from oil can be produced from wood. In recent years, the use of Renewable Resources has attracted the attention of many workers as potential substitute for petrochemicals. Attention has been focused mainly on the development of newer materials from renewable resources. |
