Résumé : |
COLOR, like music, is a pure sensation and is defined mostly indirectly and circularly. Color perception describes at least three subtle aspects of reality : 1. Inherent property of an object. 2. Characteristics of light rays. 3. Visual sensation and brain's interpretation. An object looks colored because it interracted with surrounding light, and the human eye is able to perceive the light thus sent out. A useful functional definition, therefore sounds as : 'Color is that part of perception that is carried to us from our surroundings by differences in the wavelengths of light, is perceived by the eye, and is interpreted by the brain. |
