Résumé : |
Three caprolactone modified polyesters with similar raw material compositions were synthesized by varying the mode of reaction of caprolactone so as to get one polyester with a caprolactone chain as the side chain and two polyesters with a caprolactone chain in the backbone. The viscosities of these polyesters and the properties of the film obtained by curing these polyesters with HMMM were compared. An unmodified polyester was synthesized and used as control resin. While caprolactone modification was found to give lower viscosity, the lowering of the viscosity was significant in case of polyesters with caprolactone in the backbone. Incorporation of caprolactone in the backbone can lower the pencil hardness of the film, but this problem can be overcome by first polymerizing caprolactone to form polycaprolactone and then reacting it in the backbore. Caprolactone in the backbone also improves the cupping value of the film. |
