Novelty finishes like hammertone, stipple and multicolour were prepared from acid functional acrylic copolymers. These finishes were based on these copolymer resins of thermoplastic and thermosetting types. Both the types of copolymers were neutralised with triethylamine and made water compatible with the help of cosolvent butylcellosolve. Pigments and additives were added accordingly in the preparation of these novelty finishes. Special application techniques were used to apply these coatings (finishes). Thus an attempt was made for the preparation of ecofriendly novelty finishes. |
