Titre : Cohesive and adhesive interactions of polymeric coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Thadeus Schauer, Auteur ; Markus Berger, Auteur ; Claus D. Eisenbach, Auteur Année de publication : 2001 Article en page(s) : p. 76-80 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Thermal stimulated depolarization current (TSDC) was applied to examine the cohesive and adhesive interactions of polymeric coatings. With this method it was found that the curing of the two-pack alkyd melamine, epoxy and polyurethane coatings as well as the interactions with pigments, fillers and metallic substrates can be evaluated from changes in the a relaxation or shifts in the glass transition temperature. Together with complimentary tests, the measurements showed that the preferential adsorption of a hardener on the metal substrate is an important factor, which can decisively influence the adhesion of coatings. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Specimens and coatings - TSDC - DMTA/DMA - SVET - Blister test - µ-TA
- Hardener content affects AKM and EPO or PUR coatings differently
- Hardener adsorption on pigments/fillers could cause undercuring
- Surface oxidation lowers Tg in the coatings
- Correlation of TSDC with standard methods
- SVET and blister test show correlation of TG decrease with delamination resistance

Titre : Organic polymer treatment - the way to modern pigments Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Thadeus Schauer, Auteur ; Claus D. Eisenbach, Auteur Année de publication : 2003 Article en page(s) : p. 114-120 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A characteristic of "modern" pigments is that they exhibit either novel properties or a much improved performance as compared to conventional products. These special features may be associated with special colour effects, but are more often related to superior handling and processing properties of the pigment as well as long-term performance. This includes improvements in low tendeny of dusting, ease of dispersing in combination with reduced flocculation, compatibility with organic and acqueous media, consistency of colour, stability against chemical and environmental exposure. To attain these properties, one approach is an organic polymer surface treatment of the pigments. Note de contenu : Plymer adsorption / Chemisorption - stable, but often too thin / Physisorbed substances may be displaced / simple treatment, broad application / Polymer grafting / Complete dispersion is necessary / Customised pigments / Polymer precipitation / Thermodynamics rule / Making use of cloud points / Precipitation in water or organic solvants / Crosslinks fix the polymer coating / Chemical precipitation for unstructured pigment coatings / Easy processing En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1clUm74R743JlUIb_a4jjRvs4bOtCre6d/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=9433

Titre : Sound dispersions : Ultrasonic treatment enhanced Ti02 surface modification with tailored amphipolar copolymers Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Nicolay Bulychev, Auteur ; Klaus Dirnberger, Auteur ; Holger Reimann ; Christian Schaller ; Thadeus Schauer ; Vitali Zubov ; Claus D. Eisenbach Année de publication : 2007 Article en page(s) : p. 32-37 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Dispersant technology - The effects of ultrasonic treatment on the surface modification of titanium dioxide by various polymers were studied in aqueous dispersions. Ultrasonification both reduces particles size and increases pigment surface activation, increasing the efficiency of particle coating by the copolymers and enhancing stability of the dispersion. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : For the fast evaluation of modern high quality coatings new efficient methods are needed which provide reliable information in a short time about the protective features of the coatings. Electrochemical techniques are the potential candidate for such an application, particularly the modern scanning methods like the local electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (LEIS) and the scanning vibrating electrode technique (SVET). Within this work both methods were applied for testing differently pigmented protective coating. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The early stages of corrosion and degradation of coatings take place locally and require special methods to be detected. A possibly high sensibility and a good spatial resolution of these methods are assumed. A comparison is made between two scanning methods, capable to be applied for this purpose, i.e. the scanning reference electrode technique (SRET) and scanning vibrating electrode technique (SVET).
