Titre : Shellac-based tin can lacquers for the packaging industry Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : P. C. Sarkar, Auteur ; P. C. Gupta, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 41-44 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The suitability of shellac-based compositions as internal can coating lacquers was studied for possible use by the packaging industry. Several formulations based on shellac and different, commercially available synthetic thermosetting resins, including urea formaldehyde, melamine formaldehyde, phenol formaldehyde (resole type) and polyvinyl butyral resin, etc. were evaluated as per IS: 5818 (1988) specifications. All formulations were based in a spiritless solvent medium. It was observed that certain formulations showed good potential for use as can coating lacquers and, if adopted by the can coating industry, were likely to give a boost to the consumption of lac resin in this virgin field, both in India as well as abroad. Titre : Studies on rosin modified ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as reactive comonomer Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Himadri Panda, Auteur ; Rakhshinda Panda, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 45-50 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Rosin modified ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, when present with styrene as a comonomer in an isophthalic polyester resin, has been shown to produce extended gel times and time to reach peak exotherm without affecting tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength, flexural modulus and heat deflection temperature of the resin. Similarly, mechanical properties of the same resin reinforced with fiber glass woven rovings including wet strength retention after 3 hours boil test were also not affected. Note de contenu : - Materials used
- Preparation of rosin modified ethylene glycol dimethacrylate
- Homopolymerization of REDMA
- Gel time, peak exotherm and time to reach peak exotherm
- Viscosity of isophtalic polyester resins
- Mechanical properties of resins
- Heat deflection temperature of resin

Titre : The mix-concept : The base for a good finish Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ap Heijenk, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 51-58 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A new range of products has been developed for a new and economical concept of product portfolio management: The DSM Mix-concept. Five base grade polyesters have been developed: three high Tg granulate types with a Tg of about 50°C and two liquid, solvent borne, flexibilisers with a Tg of about -20°C. By mixing two or three of these base grade resins in different ratios a broad range of binder systems can be developed and at the same time the complexity of a resin portfolio can be greatly reduced. Development work can be sped up and existing formulations can easily be adjusted to changing demands just by adjusting the mixing ratio of the Mix polyesters. Note de contenu : - Based grade polyester
- Advantages of a solid polyester approach : Resin production – Product development / paint production
- How to use mix polyesters : Determination of the ratio (solubilised) granulate / flexibiliser – Select base resins by hydroxyl value – Solubilisation of the granulate resins – Paint preparation
- Comparison of mix-polymers versus existing resins : Coil coatings – Can coatingsPermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=12334

Weber, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 59-66 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The Waterborne All Acrylic (WBAA) system is an isocyanate-free, easily mixable, two pack coating system with a low co-solvent level. It was originally developed for topcoats in the general metal market but is finding many applications on other substrates such as wood and plastic. It is based on amino functional acrylic emulsions and epoxy functional acrylic dispersions. The range has recently been extended with an amino resin with much improved stability and an APE-free epoxy resin. Now, all WB AA resins, except one, are APE-free. This presentation will concentrate on recent developments and new evaluation results. Note de contenu : - The Solventborne All Acrylic (SB AA) system
- The Waterborne All Acrylic (WB AA) system
- The 1st generation WB AA amino emulsion (WB AA-1) amino)
- The third generation WB AA amino emulsion (WB AA-3 amino)
- The third generation WB AA epoxy dispersion (WB AA-3 epoxy)
- Performance in coatings formulations
- Comparison of WB AA with WB two component polyol-polyurethane systems
