Résumé : |
Growing emphasis on a cleaner environment has led the paint industry to come up with new initiatives that reduce the environmental impact of automotive coatings. Technological advances have focused on reducing solvent emissions, cutting waste and eliminating toxic ingredients. Some of these technologies have been late entrants to India because of the prohibitive cost and the less stringent regulatory environment. However, the additional costs of environmentally sensible options are falling. Regulators are also likely to raise standards as automobile production goes up and the significance of the pollution load from the industry rises Indian automotive manufacturers too will, over time, move to options that were hitherto seeing a restricted use in our country. |
