Résumé : |
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are a major concern in the environmental pollution by organic solvents used in paint industry. The current trend is towards eco-friendly coatings like water borne coatings. The present work focusses on the method of preparing the Epoxy-Acrylic graft copolymer dispersions. The various experimental sets were prepared by varying the reaction parameters as well as compositions. The EAGDs were then characterized for their physico-chemical characteristics like nonvolatile content, water compatibility, viscosity, particle size, shelf stability as well as the instrumental methods viz. GPC (molecular weight), IR-Spectra and DSC where also employed for the analysis. Thus the optimization was carried out for the EAGDs to be used for the water borne industrial coatings. |
