Résumé : |
There are three reasons for coating the plastic materials :
a) For functional properties such as to increase the conductivity, to increase the surface properties such as mar resistance, solvent resistance, moisture, air or vapor transmission resistance or even to protect the plastic substrate from light.
b) For decorative purposes
c) Economic purpose. For example instead of using effect pigments in the plastic substrate, it is possible to produce an irridescence by using a coating based on effect pigment in place of blending the pigment in the bulk plastic. Thus the high cost pigment need not be wasted in the bulk of the plastic.
All coated products in the industry require some reworking. A small portion of the production may be totally defective and would require total stripping. In this paper, experimental results of paint removing compositions for electrodeposited metal coatings and plastic coatings are described. |
