Water thinnable gloss emulsion paint, red oxide primer, washable distemper and metal putty have been formulated and evaluated for their properties. Four alkyd emulsions were used for the investigation. The emulsions were prepared from the alkyd resins based on castor oil, rosin, pentaerythritol, fumaric acid, maleic and phthalic anhydrides. All the formulations have found to be excellentin their film properties, chemical and solvent resistance, stability and scratch hardness. The gloss emulsion paint had excellent gloss. |
