An organic coating formulation is generally made-up of a polymeric binder or a combination of binders, pigments and extenders, carrier components-volatile liquids (solvents or water) in liquid paints and air in powder coatings and a number of additives. The coating has to pass through a number of diverse stages during its usage cycle production, transportation, storage, application, film formation and the performance as final coating film. A well-balanced composition should exhibit desired properties during all the stages. |
