Structures multicouchesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Novel kinds of magnetism-driven poly N,N-dimethylacrylamide bilayer intelligent hydrogels with various nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) contents were prepared successfully via one-step insitu free radical polymerization. The bilayer hydrogels possessed high mechanical strength, efficient swelling and steady magnetic response. With the increase of nanofibrillated cellulose content, the crosslinking density of the hydrogels increased, leading to the decrease of swelling rate and increase of mechanical strength and swelling bending degree of hydrogel actuators, respectively. Fe3O4 particles existed tightly on the micropore surfaces of the hydrogels, which built the function base of magnetic response of hydrogel actuators. The addition of Fe3O4 was irrelevant to the variation of crosslinking density. The bilayer structure exhibited high bonding strength. Based on intelligent responsive properties, bilayer hydrogels were designed as soft magnetism-driven actuators, realizing capture and transportation properties and provided material candidates for soft robots. Ils sont isomères avec les groupements diazocarbonés , et comme eux peuvent servir de précurseurs aux carbènes par perte d'une molécule de diazote . Par exemple, l'irradiation des diazirines avec de la lumière ultraviolette conduit à l'insertion de carbène dans diverses liaisons CH, NH et OH. Par conséquent, les diazirines ont gagné en popularité en tant que petits réactifs de réticulation photoréactifs. Textiles et tissus -- Propriétés mécaniquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : The dyeing of polypropylene fabrics utilising conventional-disperse dyes often meets poor colour yield and fastness problems, fundamentally caused by the low affinity between dyes and polypropylene fibres. In this article, a new class of hydrophobic reactive dyes that can react with polypropylene were designed using diazirine moiety as a reactive group, azo structure as a chromophore, and an ester group as a linking bridge. The difference among these dyes was the alkyl chain length on the azo chromophore, which was used to fine-tune the affinity between the dyes and fibre. The structures of the synthesised dyes and intermediates were characterised and confirmed using nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, and infrared spectrometry. The absorption and thermal properties of the dyes were also studied to ensure their feasibility for dyeing application. In addition, the diazirine dyes were successfully applied to dye polypropylene fabrics using a two-step process by dyeing in a non-aqueous solvent and fixing it under heating. The dyes and polypropylene fibre were demonstrated to react, where the fixation values were in the range 64.5–76.4%. The systematic study of the structure–property relationship demonstrated the positive effect of the alkyl chain in promoting colour yield, however, accompanied by a slightly reduced fixation value. Due to the chemical bonding of the dye molecules to the fibre, the dyed polypropylene fabrics exhibited excellent colour fastness property, making the dyeing technology very promising for future industrial applications. Système de libération contrôlée (technologie)Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : ChlorHexidine Digluconate [CHD] was encapsulated inside an ethylcellulose shell material [Aquacoat ECD], and then spray dried to produce mixed microparticles (MPs). The validity and functional quality of the resultant [CHD-MPs] were analyzed on vamp and lining leather which are used to manufacture shoes for diabetics. The morphology, efficiency of encapsulation and in vitro release characteristics of the [CHD-MPs] were optimized in order to impregnate [CHD-MPs] onto leather footwear for diabetics. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to characterize the [CHD-MPs] and the leathers treated with it. SEM images illustrated that the [CHD-MPs] were spherical, smooth in shape and adhered well to leather. In vitro CHD-release studies from its MPs, and for leather treated with it were performed in phosphate buffer saline at pH =7.2. There was an inherently controlled release behaviour of CHD for all the formulations on leather. Finally, microbiologic studies on leather treated with [CHD-MPs] were done. Parmi ceux-ci, les acides α-aminés se définissent par le fait que leur groupe amine est lié à l'atome de carbone adjacent au groupe acide carboxylique (le carbone α), ce qui leur confère la structure générique H2N–CHR–COOH, où R représente la chaîne latérale, qui identifie l'acide α-aminé.

ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Objectives : This work aimed to design, synthesize and characterize replacement natural moisturizing factor (NMF) composed of modified hygroscopic linear amino acids to pre-empt or repair skin barrier dysfunction.
Methods : Following synthesis and characterization, thermo-gravimetric analysis and quantum mechanics molecular modelling quantified and depicted water binding to the new compounds. Deliquescence relative humidity demonstrated the water-scavenging ability of the compounds, whereas snake skin moisturizing studies showed they increased water uptake into snake skin.
Results : From thermal analysis, N-hydroxyglycine showed greatest water-holding capacity followed by N-hydroxyserine, l-homoserine and ?-hydroxyglycine; coupled with quantum mechanics molecular modelling, between 8 and 12 molecules of water could associate with each molecule of either N-hydroxyglycine, N-hydroxyserine or l-homoserine. All of our modified amino acids were efficacious and induced similar or greater water uptake compared with the established moisturizing compounds hyaluronic acid, glycerine and urea in snake skin. Incorporated at 10% in Oilatum, N-hydroxyserine induced >200% greater moisture uptake into dry snake skin compared to treatment with water alone, with efficacy related to the molecule structure and ability to bind to 12 water molecules. Oilatum cream spiked with all our unnatural amino acid hydrotropes increased water uptake into snake skin compared with Oilatum alone.
The compound series was designed to elucidate some structure – efficacy relationships. Amino acid chirality did not affect the water-holding capacity but did affect uptake into skin. Compounds with high melting points and bond energies tended to decrease water-holding capacity. With isosteric replacement, the more electronegative atoms gave greater water-holding capacities.

Revêtements protecteursIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Acrylic silicon hybrid resins for corrosion protective coatings were developed by emulsion co-polymerisation of methy acrylate (MMA), butyl acrylate (BA), styrene with methacryloxypropyl trymethoxysilane (MATS) and octamethylcyclotetra siloxane at 80-85°C in the presence of ammonium per sulphate (APS) as the initiator, resulting polymers were characterised by using Fourier Transformed Infra Red Spectroscopy (FTIR) and particle size analyser. The obtained polymer had high solid content and was used in emulsion paints as binder. The coatings were prepared and their anticorrosion behaviour discussed with varying silicon content. The experimental results show that these polymers supply very useful properties such as high anticorrosive, UV light stability, washing and coating with highest silicon content exhibited the maximum corrosion resistance property.
