Tannage Résumé : By application of high pressure of about 450 bar and a temperature of about 100°C, vegetable tanned leather parts can be bonded together. The shear strength of the bond is about 50 kgf/cm2.
The fusion comes into being by the mutual interpenetration by diffusion of fibers. This can be seen directly on scanning electron micrographs. Possible mechanisms for fusion bonding are proposed.
The difference between this fusion bonding and the conventional gluing of leather parts is discussed.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xj8CGFGNcO4G7BHsF_qixOCbPKjp87Um/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8319

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : By injecting scrap of mixed tannage skin or hide, previously reduced to fibres, to pressure and heat the internal structure of this raw material changes markedly going through well definable, consecutive phases. In this article the specified phases are described. By means of a simplifying model several unexpected phenomena that were observed with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) are explained. Wyler, Auteur Année de publication : 1990 Article en page(s) : p. 74-77 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A novel process has been developed to produce 'hot pressed leather fibre composite', a new material, from leather scrap.
Characteristic of the process are the raw material, scrap of mixed tannages skin or hide, reduced to fibers, and the process parameters, namelytemperature and high pressure. By use of additives and by changing the process parameters, the internal structure and mechanical properties of this new material may be changed. Ageing of the material, apparent in the change of its mechanical properties and its structrual background has been investigated. Ageing studies revealed the compatability of additives with the raw material. Because of the relationship of the material to both plastic and leather, the term pleather was coined to designate the material.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1frQDpLovT85lndi5bxHEh8dYdhXjMl4t/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8762

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The morphology of hot pressed, ground leather fibre depends on the process parameters, pressure and temperature, and is also influenced by stress distribution within the material during processing. In this article several factors, influencing this distribution are discussed. Further loads vs. compression curves are also presented.
