Résumé : |
The purpose of this review paper is to describe the early research on the polymerization of drying oil. Dimer acids are a unique chemical and have no other commercial chemical has the same or nearly the same properties like, these acids have good low temperature characteristics and never crystallize, also have a comparatively high molecular weight for the dimers oflinoleic acid and finally they contain unsaturated bonds that are difficult to conjugate with either the carboxylic group or with another. The author also discusses the physical and chemical properties, chemistry of manufacturing process, polymerization analysis, economic aspects and application of dimer acids. |
