The success of combinatorial methodologies (i.e. automated and parallel workflows) in pharmaceutical research industries has shown the pathway of similar developments in materials science, especially in organic coatings. This review provides an overview of published combinatorial or high-throughput experimentation work in the area of polymeric coatings. Methodological aspects, experimentation examples, shortcomings and future challenges are discussed. |
