Résumé : |
This article walks us through the different types of packaging material that is used by the paint industry world wide. Why they are prefered ? What are the substrates? Which are the printing techniques? Since there are different type of paints-water based/ solvent based/ powder coating, the packaging media also varies. It starts from the basic Tinplate & extends itself to fluorinated packaging, from liners to laminates, from 80 gsm paper to 7ply corrugated box. The medium of decoration of all the packaging substrates varies from the most popular offset printing to the latest inmold labeling. This subject gives us a basic idea that paint packaging today is exposed to different types of new substrates & shows us the possibility of someday packing solvent based paint in flexible packing- like we have for detergents & oils. This article is an insight into the different substrates currently used in paints packaging. |
