Résumé : |
Graffiti especially on buildings, public transport vehicles or public utilities is a great nuisance. The cost of graffiti removal has been estimated as exceeding £500 million per year with the European countries. It appears impossible to reduce the amount of graffiti being applied and thereby putting forward a great challenge to the coating industry to develop the coatings with an tigraffiti properties. The goal is, removal of graffiti using simple cleaning methods, if possible only with water. For a long time the coating industry has thought of different possibilities of a simple method of graffiti removal.
This paper reviews the several possibilities to make coatings graffiti resistant including the use of sacrificial coatings, modification of the coating with antigraffiti resins and graffiti cleaning methods. |
