Résumé : |
In this paper, we present a non-ionic, self-emulsifying cross linkable dendritic polymer used to disperse conventional alkyd resins (originally prepared to be solvent-borne) in water. The emulsions are obtained through the EIP (emulsion inversion point) method.
The emulsions are typically characterized by good shelf life stability and have been made at solids content of about 50% with a viscosity of 50-150 mPa*s.
Examples of paint formulations are given.
Effects of using Boltorn W3000
• Boltorn W3000 blends well with conventional alkyds and allows the making of alkyd emulsions with low amounts of external surfactant.
• Paint made on emulsions made with Boltorn W3000 has fast drying
• Paint made on emulsions made with Boltorn W3000 has good chemical resistance. |
