Titre : Environmental & safety issues - clean technology and environmental auditing Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : K. T. W. Alexander, Auteur ; D. R. Corning, Auteur ; N. J. Cory, Auteur ; V. J. Donohue, Auteur ; R. L. Sykes, Auteur Année de publication : 1992 Article en page(s) : p. 17-23 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Leather production yields emissions to water, land and air - all of which are increasingly subjected to legislative control. Furthermore, safety for employees within the work place has to ensured.
Compliance with this increasingly complex regulatory system precludes single objective approaches. Environmental auditing is a systematised approach to identifying the problems within a particular sector or production unit.
To ensure that the leather industry can effectively reduce its environmental impact, BLC is co-ordinating two international projects to provide reliable information on the real, as distinct from claimed, status of clean technologies applicable to this sector.
Monitoring of the work place and its emissions makes analytical demands beyond the scope of traditional tannery laboratories and recent developments will be reported.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YDQawlXsLkT4uOQdj7KGlpXsTmYHa83Y/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8643

Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Dyeing process control may be advanced by the development of an electronic instrument able to measure the real time uptake of dyes, providing an insight into the relationship between dye uptake rate and quality in terms of penetration, shade and fastness. The device offers assistance in the formulation and optimization of dyeing processes, whilst the incorporation of telemetry can extend its use to the shop floor in a practical manner. Tannage Résumé : The downgrading of leather due to grain faults only apparent after crusting continues to severely undermine efforts to improve quality control, and significantly reduces profitability. However, an automatic inspection device consisting of a special video camera linked to a high speed parallel processor may provide the solution. A prototype system, able to recognise and classify grain defects, expressing these in the form of a fault map or single numerical grade prior to samming or after toggling has been designed, and a prototype is currently under evaluation in the laboratory and tannery. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : A mechanical high pressure chemical impregnation machine (Krause Penetrator), designed for straight-thought processing, has recently been re-evaluated for fellmongering, tanning and fatliquoring.
The chemical injection concept aims to achieve high speed processing by eliminating or reducing the rate limiting diffusion of reagents, and offers itself as a clean technology by virtue of the float recycling design. Although some aspects of these latest trials are encouraging, the work has demonstrated that the machine is not yet ready for incorporation into industrial processing.

PesticidesUn pesticide est une substance répandue sur une culture pour lutter contre des organismes considérés comme nuisibles. C'est un terme générique qui rassemble les insecticides, les fongicides, les herbicides, les parasiticides.Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this report insecticides, which have been shown to protect dried skins from attack by dermestes maculatus, and most of which are classed as safe for use in stored food grains FAO, have been evaluated for persistence during tannery processing.
In these trials key parameters are considered to be the quantity of insecticide remaining in the spent process liquors (including suspended solids) and the amount remaining in the pickled pelt. These results are summarised in tabular form below. The amounts of active insecticide on the skins when put into work were not constant and are not to be taken into account when comparing concentrations in the effluent.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bA0hP1WZKLQb1ivFp425aup4XVb94IK0/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8557
