Résumé : |
The techniques used for finishing and coating furniture or other wood based products are mainly based on the drying and curing of lacquers using air circulating ovens. This restricts the range of coatings which can be used, due to the upper temperature limitation imposed by timber. Advances have already been made to introduce ultraviolet and electron beam technology to the industry, which can radically reduce drying and curing times for clear lacquers. However, some difficulties are being encountered in applying these technologies to powder and pigmented coatings. The use of focused thermal or photoenergy may provide a route for developing improved rapid curing technique for coatings or timber based products. |
