Novel moisture control additives have been developed for use in higher solids polyurethane coatings. These oxazolidine-based compounds eliminate the adverse effects of humidity often seen during the application of two-pack polyurethane systems. Problems such as down glossing, pinholing, hazing and bubble entrapment can be prevented with proper application of this chemistry. These additives also remove moisture from one- and two- pack polyurethane coatings during their manufacture, thus providing superior shelf life and film properties. |
