Résumé : |
A powder coating system has been developed that can be cured by UV-radiation. This system is based on a fumaric or maleic unsaturated polyester and a vinyl ether functional polyurethane. The system is especially suitable for application on wood and plastics. Conventional thermally curing powder coating systems can not be used for wood applications because the coated materials can not resist high cure temperatures. One of the biggest advantages of the radiation curable powder coating technology is that flow (promoted by heat) and cure (by UV-radiation) are independent processes, resulting in coatings with smooth surfaces. The coating based on this UV system exhibits good flow, hardness, adhesion and sandability. |
