Technical literature on calcium carbonates is reviewed for recommended parameters for specific paper and coating applications, with comment on some formulation cautions affered in the literature. The commercial grades of ground and precipitated calcium carbonate are summarized, emphasizing the color and average size of each grade. Other industry information is surveyed, to show the breadth of calcium carbonate usage. Price data included are from the paint industry product offerings. |
