Polyurethane dispersions are binary colloidal systems having PUR particles dispersed in aqueous phase which can be classified into anionic, cationic and nonionic systems. In this paper PUR ionomers are prepared by anionic dispersion process, using isophoron diisocynate (IPDI), polyester polyol, polyoxypropylene glycol (PPG-1000) and dimethylolpropionic acid (DMPA) as the potential ionic center with NMP as the co-solvent. A series of dispersions having different amounts of DMPA have been worked out to find the effect of DMPA on dispersion properties. |
