Résumé : |
Performance fluids is a collect name for a variety of low volatile liquids added to conventional, waterborne, high solids and non-aqueous dispersion coating compositions in relatively small quantities with the aim to improve their application and film forming properties, thereby providing defect-free applications and enhanced coating performance. At present such additives are almost incumbent components of decorative, protective and various special coatings. This article discusses the use and functions of performance fluids in latex (emulsion) paints, where performance fluids perform a number of functions acting as coalescing agents, anti-foams, substrate and pigment wetting agents (promoters), flow controllers and surface conditioners etc. |
