Résumé : |
Phosphate pretreatment plays a vital role in the finishing of the automotive chassis and/or some special assemblies. The ever changing needs of the customer, necessitates the manufacturer to introduce new materials and paint finishes. However, such modifications induced severe complexity in the process stages, calling for an effective process control system. With the use of electrochemical measurements, an effective correlation of the quantitative values of the characteristic properties of the phosphate coating with the control charts of the actual production runs for every lot can be established. |
Note de contenu : |
- Data points to be correlated with control charts
- Use of electrochemical measurements isn't simply desirable but mandatory
- Two methods are highly reliable assessing porosity of phosphate coatings
- Anodic polarization can be used to evaluate the corrosion resistance
- Superiority of " electrochemical impedance spectroscopy" over the salt spray test |
