Due to the complexity of the emulsification process there are many different types of additives on the market, intended specifically to wet, disperse and stabilize the resultat emulsions. The most typical emulsifiers are capable to perform all these functions, providing the formation of concentrated fine particle size and stable emulsions of various binder resins. After providing some theoretical background on the emulsification mechanism the author puts special emphasis on additives for emulsion polymerization and emulsification of resins. |
