Résumé : |
This paper will highlight some of the recent results from studies on polyesters prepared from purified isophthalic acid (PIA), terephthalic acid (PTA), 5-tert-butyl isophthalic acid (tBIA) and trimellitic anhydride (TMA). Examples are provided for each of the following systems: high-solids and solvent-borne polyester-urethanes, waterborne acrylic-polyester polyurethane blends, waterborne alkyd emulsions, and lower temperature cure polyester powder coatings. The results show that polyester coatings prepared from these aromatic starting materials offer advantages in their useful combination of mechanical properties, appearance and durability. |
