Résumé : |
Some classical formulation guidelines for paints and inks are reported and discussed from a colloidal viewpoint: rheology and dispersing apparatus; dosing of additives and bottle-shaking. These ideas help to optimize the mechanistic parameters such as particle size and pigment volume concentration of pigment dispersions. Then the solubility parameter concept is discussed as an energetic-colloidal aid in formulation work. This allows harmonization of the energetics of polymer, solvent and pigment in solvent-borne inks and paints in order to improve the distribution and stabilization of the pigments therein. |
