Résumé : |
Although the bias of the environmentally dirty sulfate process and the clean chloride process survived in the heads of users, consultants, journalists and politicians, in todays reality the environmental impact of both routes is comparable. Expenses for the environment can be, at least partially, compensated by transforming waste materials into otherwise useable raw materials or sellable products. This overview demonstrates the potential of sulfate TiO2 plants to stay competitive in a global market under changing conditions, not only costs or quality wise, but especially due to the broader variety of possible products. |
