Substrates play an important role in the coating triad paint-application method-substrate. Ground selection of a paint composition and technological pathway to coat the given substrate must always include a consideration of its features that is all possible interactions between the paint and the substrate material. Methods to apply organic coatings, in particular waterborne compositions, which imply active participation of coated substrates in film forming processes, normally provide thus obtained coatings with extended service properties. |
