Résumé : |
A test procedure is described which has been developed from the flow-cup method and allows the flow properties not only of Newtonian, but also of non-Newtonian liquids to be characterised. Thereby, the time is measured It takes for a liquid flowing out of a flow cup to spread along a horizontal channel. This procedure is particularly suited characterising the fluid flow from a leak in a container and therefore offers the possibility of classifying also non-Newtonian liquids for the purpose of storage and transport by a practical value that is easy to determine. By calibration with Newtonian standard liquids, the correlation with the flow-cup method used for Newtonian liquids is established. |
