This paper reports on the application of the image analysis methods to characterize scribe corrosion in coatings by the use of a distance transform. The methods developed are discussed with respect to the image processing steps required as well as those used for the subsequent analysis of the processed images. The results indicate that the distance transform can be used successfully to characterize scribe corrosion. |
