In powder coatings based on polyester resins and β-hydroxyalkylamide hardeners, degassing of air and water can often pose a problem. This situation can be significantly Improved using polyesters containing aliphatic acid end groups. A larger fraction of aliphatic end groups reduces the reactivity and improves the degassing behaviour. Because this fraction can be varied Independent of the glass transition temperature of the resin, other properties such as gloss, impact resistance and durability are not significantly affected. |
