Résumé : |
The practical aspects of a modern tricationic phosphating process used for automotive finishing with cathodic electrodeposition process are discussed in details. The critical areas of operation in different stages of cleaning, surface activation, phosphating, passivation and rinsing, are highlighted along with the importance of the quality of water used for bath make-up and rinsing operations. The importance of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in the evaluation of corrosion performance of phosphated and painted steel substrate is illustrated by comparing a modern tri-cationic phosphating formulation with conventional high zing phosphating formulations. |
