Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Principal component analysis is a statistical and mathematical method in colour science, which can be used in compression and reconstruction of reflectance spectra. The goal of this work is to study the effect of standard colorimetric observers and illuminant source combinations on the reconstruction of reflectance spectra of textile fabrics. Several computational approaches were introduced by using different combinations of D65, A and D75 illuminant sources and 2° and 10° standard colorimetric observers in reconstruction reflectance spectra from corresponding tristimulus values. The obtained results indicate that the accuracy of the estimation depends on the type of illuminant sources, standard observers and number of principal components. The best result was achieved by a 2° standard observer with more than four principal components. The optimal numbers of principal components for achieving the imperceptible colorimetric accuracy are 4 and 6 for 2° and 10° standard observers, respectively. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In this study, sodium chloride and sodium sulphate were used for investigating their effects on photocatalytic decomposition of a triazo acid dye, CI Acid Black 234, used widely for the coloration of leather and wool products by the Feiii-oxalate complexes/hydrogen peroxide system under different weather conditions, respectively. Moreover, the photocatalytic degradation and mineralisation of CI Acid Black 234 was also examined by ultraviolet–visible spectrum and total organic carbon measurements. The results indicated that photocatalytic decoloration of CI Acid Black 234 was significantly limited in the presence of inorganic salt. Increasing the concentration of inorganic salt led to a lower decoloration percentage and kinetic reaction constant. The effect of inorganic salt on dye decomposition varied with solar light intensity. Sodium chloride exhibits a much stronger reduction effect on photocatalytic decoloration, degradation and mineralisation than sodium sulphate at similar reaction conditions, especially on a cloudy day. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Acidic and alkaline pectinases have proved efficient for the scouring of cotton. Peracetic acid can be used as an alternative for the bleaching of cotton. As a result of similar conditions of activity, we decided to try to scour and bleach a cotton fabric with both agents simultaneously in a single bath. Prior to performing these experiments, using the viscometric method we proved that pectinases retained their activity in the presence of peracetic acid. We tried to improve the efficiency of the single-bath treatment with the addition of a chelator. Tetrasodium pyrophosphate, which does not deactivate pectinases, has proved an efficient chelator. The analyses of a cotton fabric treated in a single bath with acidic and alkaline pectinases confirmed the efficiency of such treatment. A sufficient quantity of wax and pectin
was removed and, because of that, the absorbance of the treated fabric was improved. The damage to the cotton fibres was negligible and the degree of whiteness obtained was uniform and adequate for further dyeing.DOI : 10.1111/j.1478-4408.2007.00118.x En ligne : http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1478-4408.2007.00118.x/pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3137

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : The present study proposes new conditions for achieving the aged-look effect of denim. Indigo dyed cotton fabrics were treated by corona discharge at different power levels and number of passages. Colorimetric parameters of corona treatment were assessed by the CIE L*a*b* colorimetric system and the pH and colour fastness of samples were tested. The surfaces of dyed samples were studied by scanning electron microscopy and Fourier Transform–infrared ⁄ attenuated total reflectance (FTIR ⁄ ATR) analysis. Under the same conditions of corona treatment, the faded-look effect was reduced as the
depth of dyeing was increased. Increasing the power and the number of passages increases L* and b* and decreases a* values. This indicates that samples become lighter and yellower but soaping can reduce yellowness. FTIR ⁄ ATR results show that indigo dye oxidises, and isatin and anthranilic acid are produced. The pH levels of corona-treated samples reduce as the power and number of passages
increase. This acidification is in agreement with the results of FTIR ⁄ ATR analysis.DOI : 10.1111/j.1478-4408.2007.00119.x En ligne : http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1478-4408.2007.00119.x/pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3138

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Cationisation of cotton is emerging as an effective tool that may help to solve the environmental problems associated with the dyeing of cotton with reactive dyes. The efficiency of the cationising agent CA200 has been investigated and was found to be more effective when compared with the usual
method for reactive dyeing of cotton. Pretreatment of the cotton fabric with the cationising agent increases the rate of dyeing compared with the existing method of reactive dyeing. The colour yields, in terms of the Kubelka–Munk values as a function of the amount of dye fixed, showed that cationisation enhances the colour strength. It also improves the washing fastness, rubbing fastness and depth of shade. The positive environmental impact of this cationisation process is significant and the cationised cotton shows a similar fabric quality as with the normal dyeing process.DOI : 10.1111/j.1478-4408.2007.00122.x En ligne : http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1478-4408.2007.00122.x/pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3141
