To counter this problem various pollution control activities are being implemented. One of these is use of ecofriendly material in manufacturing. Surface pretreatment process & chemicals have undergone many changes to meet this requirement. This paper is brief summary of new trends of various ecofriendly products being used in the industry at present. Also performance comparison between old & new generation chemicals products is mentioned. Role of biodegradable surfactants in degreasing chemicals, Nickel & Nitrite free Phosphating, Chrome free Passivation & Aluminium treatment chemicals, is also explained in brief. Titre : Electrocoating : an environomic technology superceding customer expectations Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Nilesh V. Baraskar, Auteur Année de publication : 2009 Article en page(s) : p. 83-98 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Electrocoat technology : Electrocoat is a technology used globally to achieve high quality, low cost finishes at a level of efficiency and environmental compliance, no other finishing method approaches. Cathodic epoxies for ultimate corrosion resistance & cathodic acrylics as a best combination of moderate corrosion resistance, exterior durability and color control as a single coat, has revolutionized the automotive, general and applicance industries, and has greatly improved the quality and durability of components. Approximately 98 % of automobiles produced worldwide are now primed with electrocoat. Cathodic epoxies define the global benchmark for corrosion resistance, throw power, operational reliability & will deliver the ultimate performance to the end user. This process also gives the user the ability to control the film thickness over complex parts and assemblies.
Electrocoat technolgoy will continue to maximize performance while minimizing environmental emissions and total applied cost. HAPS-free and VOC-free systems will be used by all electrocoat markets, without sacrificing performance. Operational efficiency and productivity benefits (resultingin lower operating costs) will continue to position electrocoat as the coating method of choice for many applications.
Here efforts are made to understand the electrocoat technology, its advantages over other finishes, recent developments in Ecoat paints, process & its applications in various fields.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6838
